TRECC Civic Engagement Expos are designed to expose program participants to the inner workings of government at every level and how it impacts their daily lives and resources.
Our vision is to help communities navigate the best practices and approaches to partner with their elected officials to help improve the standard of living in their communities.
The monthly expos will educate and encourage the partnership with various government bodies.
Educate, mentor, and support program participants in understanding how they can interface with government agencies, elected officials, and government bodies to help build a better community.
Ensure that all participants understand the different functions of each level of government and the government entity's role in the life of participants.
Building confidence and awareness amongst program participants to be able to activate the local government bodies to help them provide solutions to the challenges in their community.
Participants will engage in weekly sessions where professional skills will be developed and measured by a combination of group projects, guest speakers, and fun activities.
Meet 3 to 4 times a month with an approximate duration of 1 hour per meeting. Students will perform additional hands-on activities reinforcing the learned concepts.
